SAFETY
Thatcher Company (TC) manages our business according to the principles and practices of responsible care and responsible distribution. As a member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), we are committed to supporting the industry’s efforts in the area of product stewardship to improve the responsible management of chemicals by its end-use customers. The company’s adherence to NACD’s Responsible Distribution Program is verified by a third party outside auditor. TC has an accident rate that is less than other companies in its industry.
Safety is our Number One priority. Promoting Health, Safety and Environmental Stewardship is fundamental to our long-term strategy. Safe work practices are a condition of employment. We are in compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety laws. All of our activities are conducted using safe and environmentally sound practices with the health and welfare of our employees, our customers, and the community held in the highest regard. Our very existence depends upon it.
We maintain a safety and environmental program that embodies the proper attitudes toward safety and environmental protection on the part of everyone. This program requires the total cooperation on the part of every employee in all safety, health, and environmental matters.
In an emergency, Thatcher Company authorizes the TC Emergency Coordinator to commit the any resources necessary to control an incident. This includes the mobilization of the company’s 15 member HAZMAT Team and the coordination of other emergency response organizations as well as using the company’s stockpile of emergency equipment the purchase of necessary supplies and equipment.
We, as a company and as individuals, are committed to working safely, and shall actively promote the application, improvement and effectiveness of our safety practices as a precondition of all work.
